Last one for the year

Stacey and Eric was my last wedding for the year. I am really glad to have meet these two. Eric's family is very welcoming as I went to their home to take a few last family photos for them.

In Malibu...

A few weeks ago, Fontaine and I found ourselves in the Malibu Nature Preserve. Amanda and Brandon is a couple that we met through my wife, Courtney. She had designed their wedding invites and they liked the images from Tim and Lauren's wedding. First I'll show some of their engagement photos.

Now for their wedding. I was able to incorporate Courtney's design into the opening image of their slideshow.

After Dinah and Alwin...

I was at the Marvimon House in Los Angeles, CA. Fellow creative types Karina and Sean had a great wedding at a great location. After their ceremony, we were able to get some really cool portraits of the two of them.

I know, it has been a while...

Hi everyone,

I know that I have been lagging on updating this. Sorry about that. There are interesting things happening for 2008! First, we have an advertisement in the SoCal addition of the Knot Magazine. I am not too sure exactly what issue it will be. It should be out shortly, but I think it will be called the spring issue (even though it comes out in the winter). Also, speaking of the Knot, Fontaine submitted images that she took at my wedding back in June, and they will be featured in "The Knot Weddings Southern California". Again, not too sure when that one will be either. They have contacted us for their Fall/Winter Issue, but it comes out a lot earlier. I have never understood why magazines do that...

Okay, now we have a few weddings since our last post. I am going to keep the commentary brief...

Back in early October, we photographed the wedding of Dinah and Alwin. A truly fun couple with a lot of laughs. Their ceremony was at a golf course in Pomona, CA. I had also took their engagement photos at the Santa Monica Pier the month before:

Bettsy and Ronald

Back on August 15th, I photographed Bettsy and Ronald's wedding. Let me tell you that they are quite the dancing pair! They met at a salsa dancing class and I guess never looked back. To be honest, after watching them, I felt really bad for my wife because I am not a big dancer. Watching Bettsy and Ronald tear up the dance floor was impressive. I can also tell you that they made some amazing truffles! It was a pleasure shooting their wedding.

Sorry to take so long...

Hi Everyone,

It is Erin. Sorry that there haven't been any resent postings. I have been busy with some weddings and haven't had time to post them up.

The first wedding after Jamie and Kimya's was Betsy and Stephen. They are a supper cool couple who had a traditional church service. Because of the church rules, I had to stand back with a 300mm lens. Thank goodness for Samy's Camera and their rental department. Their service was very spiritual and they served communion to their guest. I thought that was a very loving gesture.

A week later I found myself back in the Bay Area for my best friend's wedding. We have known each other for fourteen or fifteen years. I, of course, offered to take a couple of pictures. His parents are up in Suisun Valley just twenty minutes east of Napa Valley. They held the wedding at his parents house and were lucky enough to have a wonderful mid August night for their wedding. With horse shoes and botchy ball in the background, we celebrated late into the night.

Two weeks after Tim and Lauren's wedding, I was back in Southern CA shooting another backyard wedding. Frido and Wakako are fellow Art Center Alumni. They live in a very cool little home with a large back yard. Another good friend, Megan Webster, helped plan the whole event. There was a lot of tears and hugs which made the night so very special.

That is all for the moment. Stay tuned as I will be back at it this coming weekend.

Cheers,
-James (my first name) Erin (my middle name that everyone calls me by)

Jamie & Kimya

Jamie & Kimya are a fun loving and generous couple. T
This was taken right outside of the Long Beach Aquarium utilizing only the available street light. I love the mood and the contrast created by the environment.

Sexy headshot of the bride!! She's got the most beautiful and exotic eyes. No fake lashes needed..

Diva in training. This little laddy's cry for her mommy was the soundtrack during the entire preparation.
