Molly & Tom - April 28th

What can I say.. they are really a match made in heaven with the same silly sense of humor.

Molly & Tom requested a group picture. I'm pretty proud of the end result as we made it visually interesting and had it done in 5 minutes. In this situation advance planning and having 2 photographers+ 1 assistant are good to have. We scouted the location a day before, and brought a ladder specifically for this shot. When I was up high with an assistant holding on to the ladder, Erin was able to direct the guests. He also took a few in-between candids while they were focused on me.

Old world charm in the heart of Sierra Madre.

An eharmony success story!!

NY Times Weddings & Celebrations

If you like When Harry Met Sally, or a sucker for love stories ie Charlotte in Sex and the City The NY Times Weddings & Celebrations section is a great read.

The vows are written eloquently. It is very inspiring to read about love and unities when we are often exposed with news of hatred and divisions.

More favorites April 14 - Anthony & Brooke

Between Erin and I, we captured over 2200 images.. averaging 5 frames per minute over the 7 hour period. Or, it's equivalent to 61 rolls of 35mm film. I love film, but I cannot imagine a film shooter output this many images for a wedding.

With 2200 images, needless to say, my "favorite" pictures keep changing through out the process. Photography is subjective in this matter. It's in the eyes of the beholder. A picture maybe technically superb but yawn.. it may not speak to the viewer. And, there are also fuzzy, blurry, shaking images that hold emotions, expressions..etc. The value, again is defined by the view.

Here are a few more pictures "de jour"..

Flush Designs

Courtney, aka Erin's lovely fiancee, just got mentioned by DailyCandy.com. She's a very talented graphic designer who specializes in letterpress invitations. Check her out!

A Royal Flush

You’ve learned the hard way — ex No. 3, $29 dollar ho(s)tel room — to be suspicious of things that look good on paper.
But that’s exactly what Flush Designs does best. Actually, it’s all the Pasadena-based stationery company does.
Mixing vintage and modern sensibilities, the ready-made cards feature old-timey motifs and contemporary fonts in fresh hues and combos. Say hi with dandelions or happy birthday with op art balloons. The “What the …” woodblock type makes for the ultimate all-purpose greeting.
Custom work includes personal stationery, calling cards, announcements, and invitations (designer Courtney Keefe particularly loves weddings) all made with letterpress, inkjet, or a little of both. Go ahead: Ask for extras like maps, ribbons, customized envelope liners, and wax seals.
For an interactive invite, request the personalized word finder: You pick the clues and Keefe turns them into a puzzle. Or just go with something simple.
Regardless, the recipients won’t miss the fine print.

At-home wedding in Pasadena. April 14

I'm so excited to share these pictures. Brooke and Anthony had a fantastic at-home wedding with the help of her supportive parents. Brooke's family went all out in preparing their home for this special day - as it's also their anniversary. Congratulations !!

I love expressive pictures, little old ladies, and children. And, this one has all the elements.

Our beautiful bride.
